Oxbow Calcining LLC is currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Port Arthur, Texas. TSuccessful candidate must be safety oriented and capable of working in a team atmosphere. Applicants should have an accounting degree and minimum of two years’ experience and knowledge in several of the following areas:

Position Description

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for recurring transactions and accruals.
  
• Review sub ledgers and trial balance
  
• Review monthly OPS Unit Cost Report, ensuring accuracy of the transactions versus budget
  
• Publish financial data for month end closings
  
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations



Inventory activities


• Spare Parts – prepare and review monthly Cycle Counts
  
  A/P activities
  

  • Approve all purchase requisitions, after reviewing the accounting coding
    
  • Interface with A/P: Approving ‘Awaiting Approval’ and ‘Ready to Process’ Scanned invoices

  
  
  Fixed Assets, Capex and Projects
  

  • Gather and review documentation for capital projects and fixed assets (AFEs, NOCs).
    
  • Re-class all necessary transactions and expenses that need to be capitalized and amortized.

  
  
  Audit activities
  

  • Gather documentation for annual audit
    
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    

    • Communicates clearly and concisely in a variety of communication settings and styles.
      
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, mainly Excel spreadsheet.
      
    • Knowledgeable of ERP applications (Oracle is a plus).
      
    • Excellent attention to detail.
      
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

    
    
    Education and Experience:
    

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business Administration preferred.
      
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the accounting field. Manufacturing experience preferred.
      
    • Experience with Oracle preferred.
