Oxbow Energy Solutions LLC is currently looking for an Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. This position will be responsible to optimize the maintenance workforce’s productivity through efficient planning and scheduling of maintenance work; and ensure efficient execution of Maintenance and Reliability programs and practices. Essential Job Duties:
- Screen work orders for required information, and accuracy
- Visit the job site as needed to determine full scope, verifies job scope along with priority
- Identify specific skills/crafts required and estimate manpower and hours
- Discuss work request with Operations to identify all potential issues/reduce added scope, determines availability of equipment and effect on production, considers alternative work
- Identify key steps or tasks of the Job and sequence of events, consider multi-crafts as well
- Have a clear understanding of the job and how it is to be done, involve Subject Matter Experts if needed
- Determine what parts, materials, equipment, tools, drawings, sketches, and skills are required for each job.
- Issue requisition with appropriate delivery
- Secure delivery dates and place completed Job Plan Package in backlog ready for scheduling as soon as material is confirmed on site or special arrangements for delivery have been made.
- Place planned work in backlog for craft to be scheduled, develop planning and executable backlog
- Determine if Reliability input is required.
- Identify known materials required and consider "what if" potentials (Opening equipment to find more damage than planned)
- Fill out all details on Job Plan Package worksheet
- Discuss Completed Job Plan with Maintenance Leader to insure they understand the scope prior to scheduling.
- Make copies of Job Plan Package, as required, and file by priority in each craft’s backlog.
- Track and Plan PM work
- Develops standards for repetitive jobs by creating a Job Plan Library
- Will assist in the development of schedules
- Coordinate Break Ins to minimize impact to Schedule
- Send Break In jobs to Maintenance Leaders for immediate attention
- Confirm material availability on work request prior to placing on schedule.
- Work with Operations to capture production schedule needs and changes daily; operations needs one month in advance
- Review job plan package details with Maintenance Leader before scheduling to maximize the schedule when work can be combined in the same geographical location.
- Review with Operations, the scheduled work and ensure equipment is ready when scheduled
- Ensure all parties involved understand the job plan and are scheduled and sequenced as necessary for each job.
- Continuously reviews status of backlog with Maintenance Leader
- Adjusts job priorities as needed to meet production schedule.
- Works with Operations and Craftsman to follow up on successful completion of jobs, address overtime issues if required
- Schedule all in-direct non-available in Plant man-hours (training, safety meetings, etc)
- Create detail schedules for complex jobs and Shutdowns/Turnarounds
- Facilitate weekly schedule meeting with maintenance, operations and engineering satff
- Review Incomplete work orders that have been scheduled to determine status
- Review jobs and obtain status from Maintenance Manager on scheduled work on a daily basis
- Develop Schedule from Executable Backlog per Operations input.
- Supports management with special projects and workflow process improvements and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- College or technical school required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Electrical, instrumentation, mechanical and mobile equipment experience required.
- Two years minimum significant and provable work experience is required
- Five to ten years working with maintenance department preferred
- Four to six years of supervisory and planning experience in electrical / instrumentation/ mechanical / mobile equipment area preferred
- Must be familiar with a unionized work group and have supervisory training to support interaction of labor & management.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint including but not limited to creating charts, formatting cells/formulas, creating presentations and reports
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Typically works in plant environment, which may include extreme working conditions and inclement weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas
- Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
- As needed, lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Willingness to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances
- Ability to wear personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots and hearing protection)
- Willingness to obtain required training as needed
- Should be able to work both indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to travel as needed
- Valid license required
