Oxbow Energy Solutions LLC is currently looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team in Port Arthur, Texas. This position will be responsible for the design, specification, installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation equipment. Develops new programming, troubleshoots network issues and makes automation improvements on a routine basis.
Essential Job Duties:
- Repairs complex problems in automation systems.
- Responsible for developing implementing and maintaining a process information system infrastructure.
- Develops new programming and troubleshoots programming issues.
- Creates operational programs / manuals for process automation features.
- Performs general preventive maintenance work: testing end devices, temperature shutdowns, pressure switches, level shutdowns.
- Calibrates and troubleshoots automation end devices.
- Handles special projects and workflow process improvements and other duties as assigned.
- Manages Projects for process improvement
- Participates as required in design reviews, root cause analyses, and administering Management of Change
- Mentors’ electricians in developing their skills
- Maintains an organized and clean work area
- Maintains electrical drawings for related equipment making sure they are correct
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Communicates clearly and concisely in a variety of communication settings and styles. Effectively tailors the message to the needs of the audience.
- Establishes goals and objectives which are specific, measurable, achievable and relevant.
- Lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner.
- Knowledgeable of all plant instrumentation: calibration and maintenance.
- Skillful in reading electronic schematics, identifying components, and understanding their functions.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2 years of related experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Typically sits or stands for extended amount of time in front of a computer.
- As needed, lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- May be required to move about to coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate verbally and written.
- Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
- Must be able to travel as needed.
