Summary:
Lead role within maintenance department. Conducts work in a safe manner, adhering to all plant rules and procedures.

Essential Job Duties:
• Inspects, repairs and adjusts:
• Heavy duty trucks and loaders.
• Diesel engines and gas (conventional and fuel injected).
• Hydraulics/pneumatics (mobile equipment type).
• Transmissions automatic and standard.
• Suspensions and steering for light and heavy duty truck/trailer/loader.
• Mobile electrical systems ignition to actuation and lights.
• Vehicle alignment.
• Vehicle air conditioning and cooling systems.
• Drive train.
• Testing for all of above and correct use of applicable instruments.
• Other areas as needed to service and maintain all mobile and stationary diesel equipment at this facility.
• Supports management with special projects and workflow process improvements and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Communicates clearly and concisely in a variety of communication settings and styles. Effectively tailors the message to the needs of the audience.
• Establishes goals and objectives which are specific, measurable, achievable and relevant.
• Lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner.
• Use of automotive servicing equipment such as A/C recycler, hydraulic jack, or emission analyzer.

Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of experience required.
• Diesel Mechanic.
• Proficiency in working on heavy duty equipment.
• Proficiency in two skill areas other than previously listed.

Physical Requirements:

• May sit or stand for extended amount of time in front of a computer.
• May work outdoors which may include extreme working conditions and inclement weather
conditions.
• As needed, lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas.
• Must be able to handle working with petroleum coke products and use respiratory protection
• . Able to work in dusty environment
• Must be able to work with hand tools
• Must be able to load and unload heavy equipment, either with manual labor or by operating
machinery.
• Must train in safety requirements at the facility.
• Must be required to move about to coordinate work.
• Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
• Must be able to travel as needed
• Will be on call as needed
• Ability to communicate or exchange ideas by means of verbal or written word to impart
information to contractors and to convey detailed Instructions to other workers.
