Responsible for the electrical maintenance of plant equipment and facilities and other duties to insure maximum contribution to the safety, quality and productivity of the terminal.
Essential Job Duties:
Experience on low and medium voltage work on motor control centers, subpanels, and all field equipment. Including AC voltages between 120VAC 480VAC, single and three phase. DC voltages between 12VDC 48VDC. Working knowledge of higher voltages preferred.
Experience toward electrical control systems, including motor drives (VFD), instrumentation, new installations, removal of equipment, troubleshooting, and repair.
Experience with 4-20mA feedback and control systems and instrumentation.
Must possess knowledge and ability to understand, create, and/or modify electrical schematics.
Pipefitting work required for all circuit installations and repairs.
Operation of mobile equipment required on the job for material or parts placement (manlifts, forklifts, and work trucks).
Help design, construct, and install mechanical equipment and systems.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of conveyor systems, gearboxes, pumps, etc.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of Terminal equipment, such as the Ship Loader, Gangway, Hoppers, etc.
Inspect, Troubleshoot, and Complete Work Order Repairs with very little Supervisory oversite.
Complete Preventative Maintenance (PMs) Work Orders with very little Supervisory oversite.
Perform duties in a safe manner in conjunction with the rules and regulations set forth by Oxbow Energy Solutions, Texas City Terminal.
Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
Ensure that work areas, equipment, and work practices are in compliance with regulatory codes, statutes, and company requirements.
Reports all injuries, regardless of seriousness, immediately to Supervisor and Safety.
Assist in the development of written safety procedures prepared for jobs performed in the maintenance department.
Performs work in a highly functional and consistent manner.
Ensures that work performed meets the job specifications.
Makes recommendations whenever possible regarding potential improvements in operation or maintenance of plant facilities through changes and modifications in material, equipment, procedures and schedules.
Advises supervisor on matters relating to the improvement and the continued safe functioning of terminal equipment and facilities.
Ensure compliance with all terminal procedures (including safety, environmental, maintenance, operations and standard operating procedures).
Must routinely train in safety, environmental and other terminal procedures.
Ability to communicate or exchange ideas by means of verbal or written word to impart information to management and to convey detailed instructions to other workers.
Work schedule will require some overtime and periodic night shifts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to identify and repair technical malfunctions in electrical units.
Possess and maintain knowledge of National Electric Code and NFPA 70E, including updates as they occur.
Lay out work in a well-planned and organized manner.
Ability to source materials needed for use in assigned tasks/projects
Ability to work with engineering drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
Ability to measure and cut materials to specifications.
Ability to check finished work and insure it falls within specifications.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
Detail oriented, with a strong sense of time management.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
The ability to express thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Must possess or be eligible for a TWIC card
Must be able to read and write in English.
Communicates clearly and concisely in a variety of communication settings and styles. Effectively tailors the message to the needs of the audience.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates degree or applicable certifications in related field preferred.
5+ years of experience working as an instrumentation and electrician technician preferred.
Master Electricians License preferred.
Typically works in plant environment, which may include extreme working conditions and inclement weather conditions.
Typically on the move throughout shift, walking, climbing, crouching, kneeling, etc.
As needed, lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to occasionally work in confined spaces, and in elevated work areas up to 100ft.
Must be able to handle working with coal and petroleum coke products and utilize respiratory protection when needed.
Must be able to work hand tools and power tools, as needed.
Must be able to load and unload materials either with manual labor or by operating mobile equipment (forklifts, etc.)
Must be able to successfully complete fit for duty testing.
